You can actually go roaming off into the tundra or even toodle back down underground to the mech factory. Plan B: equip your 'mech with jump jets and get up onto the rim of the 'arena' there, then snipe them at your leisure with LRMs, lasers, whatever you like best. You'll take some PPC strikes but you'll easily outlast them if you take the standoff approach.
